ZAP Engineering & Construction Services, Inc. was founded by Steve Tzap and opened its doors on July 1, 2001.

ZAP Engineering & Construction Services, Inc. (ZAP) was established after Steve Tzap recognized the need for a quality engineering company with process engineering expertise in Denver. He had a vision to create a company with an emphasis in process design and controls for the Oil and Gas Industry. In response to what he understood as an opportunity in the market, Steve Tzap founded ZAP on July 1, 2001.

As ZAP grew in size, our services have expanded from process design and controls engineering into a fully comprehensive engineering enterprise. Additionally, ZAP developed its procurement, project controls and construction management departments to offer a complete package from front end engineering design through construction and commissioning. Doing so allowed ZAP to offer clients an array of business opportunities, including full EPC capabilities, all while expanding into the surrounding states and completing work in various oil basins.

In 2010, ZAP began to diversify beyond the Oil & Gas industry, leveraging the background and experience of key personnel. Applying their technical expertise and proven processes founded in the Oil & Gas industry, the ZAP team has since executed projects in the Cement & Minerals Processing, Specialty Chemical and Manufacturing industries. 

Today, ZAP is a full-service engineering company that has made its name by providing high-quality designs and engineering services to Midstream Oil & Gas, Upstream Oil & Gas, Mining & Minerals Processing, Specialty Chemicals, and Manufacturing industries. ZAP has licensed engineers in 34 US States and 5 Canadian provinces, with an ever expanding portfolio of projects. Since ZAP’s conception in 2001, we have always maintained our core values: accountability, mutual respect, quality, and execution. Our goal is to portray these fundamental values in all aspects of our business.
